With ClearSync, you can use HubSpot Workflows to trigger actions instantly when key revenue events happen via Stripe, including:
- HubSpot Deal Creation
- HubSpot Record Updates (Contact, Company)
- Slack & Internal Email Notifications
- Marketing Email or Sales Sequence Enrollment
- HubSpot Task Creation
- Survey Sends
Example ClearSync HubSpot Workflow Use Cases:
- Automatically create a Deal for a self-service new sale or upgrade — with the correct MRR change amount, mapped to the right Company, Contact, and Stripe subscription data.
- Notify your reps when customers change their subscription or set their subscription to cancel at the end of the period.
- Enroll customers in failed payment campaigns based on their Stripe subscription status changes. Then, automatically unenroll them when the status changes to active or cancelled.
- Trigger Slack notifications to the right people or channel when certain types of customers change their subscriptions via Stripe.
To set up HubSpot Workflows based on ClearSync Stripe Events:
- Go to Workflows > Create Workflow > From Scratch
- Trigger the Workflow based on Data Values > Record Created > CLS Stripe Event
- We recommend setting Re-enrollment to “Off”
- Create a Branch at the top of the Workflow based on the field Event MRR Status, which lets us take separate Workflow Actions for Stripe events with statuses like:
- New, Upgrade, Downgrade, Reactivation, Churn, Planned Cancellation
In this example workflow, we introduced a second Branch under the first to check whether there is already a Deal open at the HubSpot Company related to the Stripe Event:
- If there is already a Deal open, we create a Task to review it and trigger internal Email and Slack notifications
- If there is not already a Deal open, we create a Deal — within that Deal Creation action, we can inherit the record associations from the CLS Stripe Event, so that our newly created Deal is associated with a Company, Contact, CLS Subscription, and CLS Event for auditability:
