If you use Stripe to manage free trials, you can run segmented reporting on free-to-paid trial conversion rates within HubSpot:

To create a Free-to-paid Trial Conversion Report:

  • Step 1: Go to Reports > Create Reports
  • Step 2: Create a Custom Report, and:
    • (A) Set the Primary Data Source to ClearSync Stripe Subscriptions
    • (B) Check the Add more data sources checkbox and add Companies and/or Contacts, which will let you create segmented reporting using data on either the Company or Contact that ClearSync has related to your Stripe data in HubSpot.
  • Step 3: Create these two fields on the ClearSync Stripe Subscription object if you haven’t already (instructions are here):
    • Number of Paid MRR Events
    • Had Paid Event
  • Step 4: Click Configure, then configure the report:
    • Image without caption
    • Select the Vertical bar report type under β€œVisualization”
    • Drag the field Stripe Subscription Start Date into the X-axis
      • In the field properties, you can select weekly, monthly, or quarterly to see your trial conversion rate over different periods of time
    • Drag the field (Count) ClearSync Stripe Subscriptions into the Y-axis
    • Drag the field Had Paid Event into the β€œBreak down by” section
  • Step 4: Optionally add any Filters to the report that you might want to help you filter down to only report on the segment(s) that you’re looking for.

  • Suggested Report Name: Stripe Subscription Trial to Paid Conversion (ClearSync)
